Powell

We made a very quick trip to Lake Powell-- driving down after work on Friday, and returning Sunday.  We had a great time, it was worth the quick trip!
Brandon's brother has a houseboat there, which Makett and Taznen have been super excited to see!
Makett was really brave to go down the slide-- which has a huge drop off at the end.
Tanzen loved pulling a little boat around on the sand
My brother Kao is the same age as Brandon's nephews, and it was fun to have him come along.  They loved catching lizards.
Ryme was a little sweaty when she woke up!
Surfing
The deepest sand hole I've ever seen!
Jessica telling Kett and Tanz stories...she's so cute to entertain them!

Halo

We went to ride Lili's horse, Halo
The boys were pretty shy of him, but not Ryme.  She was very excited!

Lili's taken years of lessons in English horse riding and jumping, I was amazed at how professional she is!

Happy 4th Birthday!

Makett and Tanzen are now 4!  The morning of his birthday Makett woke up early and came running in.
"Mommy, mommy!  Look!  I'm bigger now!  I"m bigger!  I'm as big as you now!                                                                             Get up and check!"
He was disappointed I was still taller, although I assured him he seemed much taller to me

We had a little party

We made monster brownies
The BIG birthday surprise?  Bikes!  Or, as Tanzen calls them, "Bicycles."

Tanny and Kett have been very excited to ride their bikes, every day.  Makett said, "Mommy, I love riding my bike sooooo much, I just want to ride it forever!"  He's been helping give Tanzen pushes up the steep parts, and Tanzen helped make up their new favorite game, "Best bike rides in the world!"  They ride to the top of the driveway, then ride down and turn in tandem, while yelling, "Best bike riders in the world!!!"
Ryme felt very left out.  She needed a hat since the boys had helmets, and wanted a bike, so she got a stroller to push :)
Kett's rocketship cake
Tanzen's fish cake
Ryme loving cake!
It took awhile to blow the candles out!
My brother Chaz made these awesome hats

The Subway...Utah's version, in Zion National Park

We were able to take advantage of grandparent babysitters and hike the Subway in ion National park.  It was AWESOME!!!!!!  I want to hike it annually!  So beautiful!

Amazing how the water cuts through the rock

We went with my brother, Tosh, and my sister Kenzi and her husband, along with one of their friends.  Tosh shattered his ankle a few miles into the hike last year, and crawled/hopped his way though.  After hiking it I can't fathom how they managed to get him out last year!  He made it through without any mishaps this year :)

This is where the name "Subway" comes from-- see how the water has carved a huge semi-tunnel?
Crazy to see how perfectly the rock had split along the fault lines.

Kenzi and I

Brandon would always eat cactus fruit when we lived in AZ, and he was excited to find some to snack on

Yee-haw!

We've had some pretty spirited cowboys giddy-upping around our house lately!

Jordanelle

We went boating one last time for the season.  Tanzen and Makett were much braver with Daddy there to play with!

Flaming Gorge

We went to Flaming Gorge with Brandon's family, sans-Brandon, who didn't dare take off work 2 weeks after starting.  Camping, water, sand, dirt, boats, fires, treats...what more could kids ask for?!  I'll be honest- running water and bedrooms would have been helpful :)  It was great though!
