Springtime in Philly!

This is where we live, our fun little street. Our place is at the end of the row of 19 homes. I've (Brandon) been working hard to get all the neighbors to sign up for free trees from Fairmount park. After all the effort, all but four homes will have a tree in the front yard, so next spring we will have a tree lined street!

We'd forgotten how beautiful Philadelphia is, it's so green and lush! Springtime is especially gorgeous, most of the trees are in bloom with beautiful, vibrant blossoms. If you're planning a trip to Philly, I definitely recommend coming in the spring or fall!

Special Olympics Weekend

Off to the specials olympics! Me and my North Philly friends joined forces with the special olympics. The photo is of Basheer, Baseer and Michael, the superstars of our youth organization. We were in charge of the standing long jump...here we are measuring a decent jump.
This was the Olympic record holder of the day, who jumped a whopping 1.67 meters.
It was a fun and memorable day!

A Peek at our Little Ones! (& some clues...)

Ultrasound pictures have never been so exciting to us!
We don't expect you all to stare in awe like we did, but if you like attempting to decipher human-like forms from black and white, slightly otherworldly images, then take a look!

This is the best picture we have that shows both of the babies in profile...Baby B is on top, Baby A is on bottom.

We were amazed at how you can see the spine, legs, feet, and even toes! They kept putting their hands by their mouths, so cute!

I love this picture! The baby has his leg stretched out, you can see his leg and foot, along with a little fist. (yes, I said his...read on!) The ultrasound lady said Baby B was "a little maniac"...I think he's just a budding gymnast, he was sure showing off by doing flips, and waving his arms and legs. He got the hiccups, I swear it was the cutest thing ever!
Probably the scariest picture, as it resembles an alien more than a baby. However, we still think this head-on shot of his face is cute!
Well, we're pretty positive that we can now call Baby B Maketh...yup, it looks like a boy! Here's a shot at the little clue...
Side profile of Maketh, his mouth is open, and his hand is reaching towards his mouth.

They look nice and healthy...the doctor said everything looks great, and we're so thankful!!!! So, those of you who voted for girl & girl, I'm thinking you may want to rethink it (although we can't be positive at this point). I'm still liking the idea of a boy and girl, Brandon still thinks we're expecting two little boys. Time will tell!

Ok, ok, ok!!

Fine, I'll post a picture to satisfy those of you who keep nagging me! However, let me just say that I'm not very excited about posting this proof that I'm horribly huge...yes, I am only just barely 13 weeks...yes, my belly button is already poking out...yes, my pants no longer fit...and yes, I'm definitely going to be doing a lot more stretching! I can't help but wonder how I'm supposed to get any bigger...and exactly how big will that be??

Sleeping pregnant beauty

The first many weeks of pregnancy sure are rough, poor women of the world! Chaci's sure been having fun...double the babies, double the pregnancy hormones, double the sickness!
(. . . and yes, I did get reluctant permission for this picture.)

Baby A & Baby B?!!!!!?!!!

That's right, we're having twins!
Meet Baby A and Baby B!

And we're still very much in shock, so it's a good thing we have the ultrasound as proof. At least it explains why I've been so incredibly sick, why I've gained double the weight they recommend...and why my pants don't fit at just 11 weeks!

We're enlisting volunteers for when the baby...no, make that BABIES, come!

Whew! We still can't believe it...good heavens!!

Yes, it's true! Here are some fun facts about our little one...

Our baby now weighs about 7 grams, is just under 2 inches long, and looks a bit out of proportion. He or she has toes, eyes, ears, fingernails and lips, but the head is HUGE, about one-half the total size of its body. The heart is beating away, as we heard its rapid swooshing noise last week. It is crazy that something so small is making Chaci so sick! We're getting our first ultrasound on Tuesday!
(By the way, this was Brandon's first post! It took some convincing to keep him from posting a pic of me throwing up...I'm glad he stuck to the Doctorish facts, much more pleasant for everyone!)

Happy April Fools!

We're pregnant! The baby's due Oct. 23rd...and we're excited!
We wouldn't joke about something like this...right?
